Gunnar Gierschke
Landscape Architecture Student
My academic journey has been shaped by a deep interest in landscape architecture, urban planning, and design as a whole. Through my studies and work, I aim to explore the reasons behind the shaping of our environments and how we can work to create and transform them to be more equitable, diverse, and distinctive, meeting the needs of our communities while fostering a sense of unity among individuals as part of a greater whole
My Experience
Over the past four years, I’ve had the opportunity to engage in a variety of experiences, including environmentally focused volunteer work, participation in student and professional conferences, school trips to explore and analyze different cities, and an extended internship to name a few. These experiences have been instrumental in my growth as a student, designer, and researcher, shaping the direction of my future work and leading me to my current research topic,
Design Against Division: The Relationship Between Urban Segregation and Urban Form.
